I recently got a Vodafone 715 mobile phone, which I really like. The phone does, contrary to the manual, does work with a 2gb memory card, and it doesn't have to be a Vodafone card, it can be any MicroSD card (I bought mine from the website nzoczone.co.nz, via pricespy.co.nz, for about $40). A Five Pin mini-B USB cable will also be necessary, although Vodafone don't supply one with the phone. I bought mine from trademe.co.nz for around $8.
Also, I found the manual a little confusing on how to connect the phone to a computer. The manual referred to a software CD (Vodafone Mobile PC Assistant), which doesn't come with the phone, and Vodafone doesn't supply it for free. It turns out that you don't actually need it if all you want to do is put music etc. on the card. After you have fitted the SD card, the computer will automatically recognise the phone as a 'Removable Disk' drive. although a restart may be necessary. Although if at first the computer doesn't recognise the phone, as restart may be necessary, as per the manual on page 52.
Finally, the first time that you go into any of your folders in your 'My Files' folder, the phone should automatically create folders for your Pictures, Music, etc. on your memory card. If you put your music from your computer into the appropriate folder, then it should show up on the phone. Also I noticed that copying files to the memory card via the phone is a bit slow, perhaps only USB1 not USB2.
I hope it helped.

Brilliant mate. Exactly the info I needed. You're right, the manual and vodafone website, and the vodafone shop I asked at were all useless. So all I need to do is purchase a memory card and thats it. Fantastic! BTW change the red text, hard to read.
